Sponsor Licence Renewal

Our team of expert corporate immigration specialists, XT 24, brings extensive experience to assist businesses and organizations of all sizes in successfully applying for Skilled Worker Licences.

Having collaborated closely with the Home Office, we understand the meticulous scrutiny your Skilled Worker Licence application undergoes from the UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI). If any eligibility criteria are not met or if there are shortcomings in the process or documentation, the application may face rejection. The XT 24 team is committed to working diligently with you to ensure the success of your applications.

What is a Skilled Worker Sponsor Licence?

Formerly known as a Tier 2 (General) Licence, the Skilled Worker Sponsor Licence is the primary avenue for UK employers to engage overseas talent in long-term employment. If your organization held a Tier 2 (General) Sponsor Licence on December 1, 2020, it would have automatically converted to a Skilled Worker Sponsor Licence.

This licence permits individuals to work for your organization in a specific role for up to 5 years, with the possibility of extension. To transition to another employer in the UK or change the role, the individual must apply for a new visa. Once your organization obtains the licence, you gain the authority to recruit and sponsor a potentially unlimited number of non-UK nationals under this scheme.

Is my organization eligible for a Sponsor Licence?

Before applying, ensure that your organization meets the eligibility criteria:

  1. You are a legally operating UK organization.
  2. You have a genuine need for a Skilled Worker Sponsor Licence.
  3. You fully understand your duties and responsibilities as a sponsor, with appropriate HR systems and processes in place.

To demonstrate a genuine need, provide evidence of a vacant position or potential candidates requiring sponsorship. Alternatively, showcase your organization’s likely future need to recruit individuals meeting the Skilled Worker criteria.

Who can I sponsor?

Under the scheme, sponsorship is possible only if:

  1. The job is sufficiently skilled, equivalent to RQF Level 3.
  2. The salary is at least £10.10 per hour, with an annual income of £20,480 or more, depending on the job.
  3. The applicant demonstrates a certain level of proficiency in the English Language.
